About Government of Canada - Price McIntosh Grant Program

The Walter Charles Price and Adis Florence Mary McIntosh Bursary is designed to increase diversity and representation within the library, archives, and information management professions in Canada.The bursary supports students who are preparing for careers that contribute to preserving, organizing, managing, and providing access to information, documentary heritage, archival records, and library resources. By reducing financial barriers, the program encourages broader participation from historically underrepresented groups and helps strengthen inclusion across the library and archival sectors.

• Full-time students: $5,000
• Part-time students: $2,500

Government of Canada - Price McIntosh Grant Program Requirements

The bursary is open to students residing in Canada who are:

• Canadian citizens
• permanent residents
• protected persons (as defined by Citizenship and Immigration Canada)

Applicants must:

• identify as a member of a visible minority, an Indigenous person (First Nations, Inuit or Métis) and/or a person with a disability
• be a student at a Canadian postsecondary institution in a program preparing you for a career in library or archives

Application Date and Process

Step 1 – Fill out the form

Access the online form:

• Use a computer, tablet or mobile device.

• Use a compatible browser: Edge, Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

• Complete all required fields.

• Ensure the information you provide is accurate and complete.

• Save your form to complete it later, if needed.

• Switch between English and French without losing your answers.

• Select “Submit” to send your form.

Step 2 – Send your documents

After submitting the form, send the following required documents by email to: [email protected].

• A copy of your proof of status as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person (do not send original documents)

• Proof of enrollment in a Canadian postsecondary institution (university, college or CEGEP) in a program leading to a career in the documentary heritage sector (libraries or archives)

After you submit your application

• You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt.

• We will publish the names of recipients on our website once the selection committee has made its decision.

• We will contact selected applicants only.
