About GAYO - Uganda Climate Innovation Challenge

The Uganda Climate Innovation Challenge (UCIC) is a national platform created to strengthen Uganda’s climate innovation ecosystem. The program supports young people developing practical solutions to environmental and climate challenges. It brings together innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, creativity, and sustainable development to help build a more resilient and low-carbon future for Uganda.UCIC focuses on identifying promising youth-led ideas and helping them move toward stronger, scalable, and investment-ready climate enterprises.

GAYO - Uganda Climate Innovation Challenge Requirements

Applicants must meet the core eligibility conditions of the challenge.

They must:

• Be a Ugandan citizen or eligible resident.
• Be between 18 and 30 years old.
• Be a founder, co-founder, or key decision-maker in the initiative.
• Have an enterprise or project based in or primarily operating in Uganda.
• Be working on an initiative that addresses climate or environmental challenges.

The initiative should demonstrate a clear connection to climate innovation, sustainability, environmental protection, resilience, or related areas.
