About H3D Foundation Global Health Mentorship Programme

The H3D Foundation Global Health Mentorship Programme 2026 is an African-wide scientific leadership initiative designed to support early- to mid-career researchers in drug discovery and global health.The programme connects African scientists with internationally experienced mentors from academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Its core aim is to strengthen scientific capacity, leadership development, and innovation in health research across the continent.Since its launch in 2019, the programme has successfully completed multiple mentorship cohorts and continues to expand its impact across Africa’s scientific ecosystem.

Benefits of H3D Foundation Global Health Mentorship Programme

The programme is supported by international funding and collaboration frameworks, including:

• The Gates Foundation (supporting earlier cohorts)
• European Union Horizon research funding programmes
• Swiss Confederation State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI)
• RAFIKI Alliance partnership network

Cohorts 5 and 6 are jointly managed by the H3D Foundation and CP+Associates, reflecting strong global collaboration in scientific mentorship.

• Are passionate about advancing drug discovery on the continent
• Are motivated to grow their careers and engage proactively with a mentor
• Have not previously completed the Global Health Mentorship Programme
