About Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - SLE Postgraduate Program
The program is aimed at motivated Master's graduates who wish to expand and reflect on their specialist knowledge, methods and values. Each year, we select 20 interdisciplinary and international applicants to participate in the program. In Berlin, you can expect an interactive course program and practical training with project studies in partner countries and in small groups with real-life challenges.
Benefits of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - SLE Postgraduate Program
Our participants receive:
- Monthly scholarship from January to December in the amount of 1,300 euros (full scholarship, based on the German Young Talent Promotion Act – NaFöG)
- if applicable, child supplement of 102.26 euros for the first child and 51.13 euros for each additional child.
Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - SLE Postgraduate Program Requirements
- A completed university or university of applied sciences degree (Master’s, Diplom, state examination, doctorate) with at least good grades that qualifies for a doctorate at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The Master’s degree must be available by the start of the SLE program (beginning of January) and is a prerequisite for enrollment at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
- Internships, work and study placements in one or more countries
- Above-average interest in development policy and high motivation for the additional training.
- Fluency in English. Further good knowledge is an advantage, especially of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish.
- Health suitability for stays in countries of the Global South with possibly limited health care and higher health risks.
- Personal suitability for the SLE postgraduate program.
Please note: The scholarship is only open to people who are citizens of an EU member state or a country that is classified as a transition or developing country according to the DAC list of ODA recipients.
