About I Tatti–Dumbarton Oaks Joint Fellowship Program
The fellowship is designed for scholars whose research examines cultural contacts, exchanges, and interactions between Italy and the East Christian world.It encourages research that extends beyond traditional disciplinary and geographic boundaries and explores connections within the late medieval and early modern Mediterranean.
Benefits of I Tatti–Dumbarton Oaks Joint Fellowship Program
- Minimum total grant value: USD 42,800.
- Includes housing, travel, weekday meals (DC term), and relocation support.
- I Tatti term: USD 5,200/month + relocation allowance.
- Dumbarton Oaks term: USD 17,500 grant + USD 6,000 research grant + housing allowance.
I Tatti–Dumbarton Oaks Joint Fellowship Program Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a PhD.
- Have background in Italian Renaissance and/or Byzantine Studies.
- Be proficient in English and have at least reading knowledge of Italian.
