About I Tatti - The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies - Residential Fellowships
The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies at Villa I Tatti in Florence invites applications for the 2027-2028 I Tatti Residential Fellowships. Each year, fifteen twelve-month fellowships are awarded to postdoctoral scholars conducting advanced research on the Italian Renaissance, broadly defined as spanning from the 14th to the 17th centuries, and in its global and transnational contexts

I Tatti - The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies - Residential Fellowships Requirements
- Applications are open to scholars of all nationalities
- Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) by the time of application
- PhD must be awarded between January 1, 2016, and September 1, 2026
- Strong background in Italian Renaissance studies required
- Project must focus on the Italian Renaissance (14th–17th c.) in Italy or global contexts
- Research must be feasible in Florence with I Tatti resources
- Candidates must be fluent in English or Italian and able to read both
- Early career scholars preferred; no concurrent second PhD allowed
- Franco-Italian Renaissance projects/French citizens/residents given special consideration
- Applicants are responsible for the visa, residency permit, and health coverage
- Fellowship cannot be renewed; only one I Tatti fellowship application per academic year is allowed
