About Iceland Writers Retreat Program

The fully funded coverage includes participants’ fees, accommodation, and air travel coverage. The duration of the program is 5 days, set to take place at Reykjavík, one of the most vibrant and culturally rich cities of Iceland, from April 15th-19th, 2026. The objective of the “Writers Retreat Program” is to gather talented writers from around the world and support, inspire, and connect them through immersive workshops, cultural experiences, and literary discussions in Iceland.

What does the award cover?

Entrants can apply for either full or partial funding.

• Full funding covers one standard participant fee, four nights accommodation in Reykjavík (location may not be the retreat hotel), and round-trip flights to Iceland.
• Partial funding covers the standard participant fee only.

 

Iceland Writers Retreat Program Requirements

Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are invited to apply:

• Writers’ retreat is accepting applications from all nationalities
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply
• Applicants from any background and level of writing experience can apply
• The program does not require an English proficiency test for participation
• Candidates who have previously attended the program are not eligible to apply
