The Department of Health Research under the Human Research Development (HRD) scheme offers short-term and long-term fellowships abroad to support Indian health researchers and faculty members. The programme is designed to enhance advanced training, global exposure, and research capacity in clinical, biomedical, and health sciences.
Short-Term Fellowship Abroad
Monthly stipend: USD 3,000 (covers accommodation and living expenses)
Return economy class airfare via Government of India-approved travel agencies
Visa and travel reimbursement: Up to INR 75,000
Overseas mediclaim insurance reimbursement: Up to INR 20,000
Long-Term Fellowship Abroad
Monthly stipend: USD 3,000
Return economy class airfare via approved government travel agencies
Visa and related expenses reimbursement: Up to INR 75,000
Overseas mediclaim insurance reimbursement: Up to INR 20,000
Applicants must:
I. Short Term Fellowships Abroad Duration of fellowships: 15 days to three months Age limit: Below 57 years as on last date of receipt of application
II. Long-Term Fellowships Abroad Duration of fellowships: six months to twelve months Age limit: Below 45 years as on last date of receipt of application
