Opportunity Details
The Indigo Love of Reading Literacy Fund Grant is designed to support schools and educational organizations in creating meaningful, long-lasting improvements in literacy. The program invests in library resources, instructional materials, and literacy-focused learning environments to expand access to books and foster a culture of reading among students.
The grant enables schools to:
Improve literacy infrastructure by increasing access to books and educational materials
Foster student engagement and a lifelong love of reading through diverse literature
Support educator and student skills in key areas like inclusion, environmental literacy, and STEM
Encourage community participation by involving parents, families, and local organizations
Promote equity in literacy access for underserved and high-needs communities
Schools: Publicly funded schools receiving at least 80% of funding from provincial or federal sources
Grades Supported: Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 (schools with additional grades may qualify if within range)
Organizations: Non-profit groups partnering with eligible schools
Community Focus: Priority given to high-needs communities facing socio-economic or intersectional challenges
