About IAEA Summer School on the Legal Framework for Nuclear Energy
This two-week virtual Summer School, to be held from 16 to 25 June 2026, will provide students with an in-depth understanding of the international legal frameworks that govern the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear energy. It forms part of the IAEA's broader efforts to expand education in the field.
Benefits of IAEA Summer School on the Legal Framework for Nuclear Energy
- Participants are expected to attend all sessions of the IAEA-GW Summer School, actively engage in discussions, cases studies, and complete any assigned work prior to and during the course. A certificate of completion will be issued to those who meet the attendance and participation requirements.
IAEA Summer School on the Legal Framework for Nuclear Energy Requirements
The IAEA-GW Summer School is open to students from IAEA Member States who meet one of the following criteria:
- Law students with a bachelor’s degree, with priority given to the following fields: nuclear law, international public law, energy law, environmental law, and other relevant areas of law.
- Students with a bachelor’s degree in other related fields such as engineering, physics, etc.
- Students need to be enrolled in an accredited university programme (postgraduate).
- Students need to be proficient in English.
