The Global Youth Action Fund is an initiative by the International Baccalaureate (IB) designed to empower secondary school students to solve urgent local and global challenges. By providing both seed funding and capacity-building mentorship, the fund enables young leaders to transition from “hope” to “measurable impact.
The IB Global Youth Action Fund is highly inclusive and not restricted to IB students.
Eligibility Criteria:
Age: Students must be between 12 and 19 years old.
Education: Must be enrolled in a secondary school at the time of the application deadline.
Location: Open to students globally (international eligibility).
School Type: Applicants do not need to be enrolled in an IB World School; students from any secondary school are eligible.
Format: Individuals or groups may apply (collaboration is strongly encouraged).
Identify an SDG: Select a UN Sustainable Development Goal that your project directly addresses.
Design a Solution: Create a project that is either new or an expansion of an existing initiative with measurable impact.
Secure a School Sponsor: Request a recommendation from a staff member at your school. This person must submit a recommendation form by the deadline.
Prepare the Pitch Deck: Create a slide deck (maximum 8 slides) covering the problem, solution, business model, and budget.
Record a Video Pitch: Create a 3-minute video (max) explaining your project, your motivation, and your plan for the funds.
Submit via Submittable: Complete the application on the official Submittable portal before your local deadline on January 30, 2026.
