About IMU Conference Support Program
The Conference Support Program aims to facilitate participation from mathematicians in developing countries at regional and international conferences. It focuses on research-level mathematical sciences and supports academic exchange rather than professional training activities.
Benefits of IMU Conference Support Program
- The maximum amount that is awarded is 4,000 EUR. Funds granted are usually in the range of 1,500 EUR - 3,500 EUR.
IMU Conference Support Program Requirements
- The conference must be related to, if not in, the field of mathematical sciences
- The conference must address either a regional or an international audience and should benefit mathematicians from neighboring countries
- The selection committee specifically considers only conferences at a research level and cannot support schools or activities which involve professional training
- The conference takes place in a developing country. In exceptional cases, conferences taking place in developed countries inviting mathematicians from developing countries may also be accepted. In these instances, conference organizers must match the awarded amount from IMU-CDC with an equivalent amount of funding from other sources to support mathematicians from developing countries.
