About IMF - Research Analyst Program

 The International Monetary Fund (IMF) offers this two-year Research Analyst Program (RAP) to talented individuals who want to gain practical experience in economic research and policy work. As a Research Analyst Program (RAP) participant, you will have a unique opportunity to acquire valuable real-world work experience in the IMF’s operational and policy work, use and improve your quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, increase your knowledge of technology, information systems, and the Web, as well as your research abilities. The program lasts for two years and we hire RAPs from around the world. Former RAPs have gone on to successful careers in a wide variety of analytical roles, many securing places in top academic institutions.

IMF - Research Analyst Program Requirements

  • Applicants must have recently completed a bachelor’s degree. 
  • Candidates should have a degree in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or another relevant field. 
  • Applicants with advanced degrees in relevant fields may also be considered if they have limited combined professional experience. 
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in their overall academic program and principal field of study. 
  • Candidates must submit final academic transcripts before appointment.
