About Public Service Scholarship
The Public Service Scholarship at Johns Hopkins SAIS supports exceptional students committed to careers in government, non-profits, international organizations, and mission-driven private sector roles. This program offers two pathways: the Public Service Fellows (MAIR) with a 100% tuition scholarship and the Public Service Scholars (MIPP) with a 50% tuition scholarship.

Public Service Scholarship Requirements
- Citizens of all countries are eligible to apply
- Must be admitted to MAIR (for Fellows) or MIPP (for Scholars) on Washington DC campus
- Proven leadership, academic aptitude, and dedication to public service
- Special consideration for applicants demonstrating financial need
- Scholarship awards cannot be deferred or used for exchange/dual degree programs
Application Date and Process
- Mark ‘Yes’ on the MAIR or MIPP application form indicating interest in institutional aid
- Mark ‘Yes’ indicating interest in a ‘Public Service Award’
- Complete and submit the Application for Financial Assistance and a scholarship essay
- US Citizens and Permanent Residents must also complete FAFSA with Johns Hopkins SAIS school code E00474
