The International Talent Development Scholarship Program is designed to support talented international students and researchers from non-EU countries who wish to study or conduct research in Germany.
The program seeks candidates who demonstrate strong academic achievement, commitment to democratic principles, social engagement, leadership potential, and active participation in their academic and wider communities.
The amount and duration of financial support depends on the study goal.
Bachelor's, Master's or postgraduate studies)
You will receive a monthly stipend of €992. Here, the standard funding period is two years.
Doctoral Candidates
You will receive a scholarship of €1,400 per month, provided that you have completed admission to doctoral studies at a university in the Federal Republic of Germany without any conditions. The standard funding period for doctoral candidates is three years.
Possible grants
Upon application, we subsidize your health and long-term care insurance up to a maximum amount of €120. A family allowance of €276 can also be paid if the spouse stays in Germany for more than three months. For children travelling with you, a monthly child benefit of €250 can also be paid after submission of a German translation of the birth certificate and a rejection notice of state child benefit from the family benefits office.
We also subsidize research trips abroad by doctoral students (but not the attendance of scientific congresses or symposia).
Tuition fees incurred at the university can be reimbursed in exceptional cases (depending on the budget situation) and upon application with up to 750 € per semester. We cannot reimburse costs incurred in connection with enrolment or re-registration (social contribution of the Studentenwerk, semester ticket, etc.) or exmatriculation.
