About KF Fellowship for Postdoctoral Research Program
The KF Fellowship for Postdoctoral Research Program supports emerging scholars who have recently completed a Ph.D. and want to conduct full-time research on a Korea-related topic at a university or research institution outside Korea. The programme is designed for early-career researchers affiliated with institutions outside North America, Europe, and Japan, with financial support for research expenses and costs related to publishing their doctoral dissertation.
Benefits of KF Fellowship for Postdoctoral Research Program
- A stipend to cover the fellow's annual research expenses and printing/editing costs for the publication of their doctoral dissertation.
- The stipend is disbursed in three installments, in an amount determined based on a screening committee's review of the applicant's proposal and the circumstances of the region in which the affiliated institution is located.
KF Fellowship for Postdoctoral Research Program Requirements
The programme is intended for emerging scholars who have recently completed their doctoral degree.
Applicants must generally:
- Have obtained a Ph.D. within the past five years
- Be enrolled or preparing to enrol as a postdoctoral researcher
- Conduct full-time research on a Korea-related topic
- Be affiliated with an eligible university or research institution outside Korea
- Be affiliated with an institution outside North America, Europe, and Japan
- Hold citizenship or permanent residency in a country outside Korea
- Meet the programme’s academic and institutional requirements
Applicants who completed their Ph.D. either in Korea or outside Korea may be eligible, provided they meet the other requirements.
