The Laidlaw Foundation Indigenous Youth Climate and Forest Fund offers a unique opportunity for Indigenous youth in Ontario to lead meaningful community initiatives, blending cultural, environmental, and social justice priorities. By fostering youth leadership, supporting resurgence, and encouraging innovative solutions to environmental challenges, the fund empowers young Indigenous leaders to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
Grant amount: Up to $30,000 USD per year
Multi-year eligibility: Returning groups may apply for a second year, for a maximum total of $60,000 USD
Applicant type: Indigenous youth-led groups based in Ontario
Leadership requirement: Projects must be developed and led by at least two Indigenous youth aged 35 or under
Project location: All activities must take place in Ontario
Inclusivity focus: Applications from First Nations, Métis, Inuit, Afro-Indigenous, 2SLGBTQ+, and disabled youth are strongly encouraged
Organizational status: Grassroots groups, including unregistered collectives, are eligible with an Organizational Mentor
