The Community Grants Program is designed to support local initiatives that enhance community life, participation, and inclusion. The program aligns with the Council Plan 2025–2029, reflecting community priorities and the vision for social, cultural, environmental, and economic development.

Benefits of Latrobe City Council Community Grants Program

Capital Works – Minor

• Funding for small-scale facility improvements such as lighting upgrades, shelter renovations, or fixed equipment installation
• Grant Amount: Up to $7,000

 Capital Works – Major

• Funding for larger or more complex facility enhancements such as ramps, kitchens, or accessible bathrooms
• Grant Amount: $7,000–$20,000

Community Wellbeing

• Supports programs that promote health, wellbeing, connection, and participation, including arts and cultural initiatives, social inclusion programs, sport and recreation activities, and health or education training
• Grant Amount: Up to $15,000

Events Funding

• Minor Events: Small-scale community events like fairs or local sports competitions
• Grant Amount: Up to $4,000

Major Events: Large events attracting visitors from outside Latrobe City, such as festivals or regional sports competitions

• Grant Amount: Up to $8,000

Community Essentials- Quick Response Grant: Fast turnaround and easier application for simple community needs.

• Grant Amount: Up to $1,500

Latrobe City Council Community Grants Program Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a not-for-profit organisation

• Be an incorporated body or have an auspice if unincorporated

• Hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN)

• Have no outstanding debts to Latrobe City Council

• Operate or be registered within the Latrobe City municipality

• Provide a satisfactory budget with required quotes and documentation

Application Date and Process

• Confirm that your organisation meets all eligibility criteria

• Identify the most suitable funding stream for your project

• Prepare a proposal including objectives, expected outcomes, budget, and required quotes

• Submit the application according to Council guidelines

• Ensure compliance with reporting and project delivery requirements
