About LMS Mathematics in Africa Grant

The Mathematics in Africa Grant provides partial financial support for activities that strengthen and promote mathematics across Africa. The scheme supports a wide range of mathematical activities, including:

  • Attending mathematical conferences and workshops.
  • Organising mathematical conferences and workshops.
  • Developing and supporting mathematical research collaborations.

The scheme is designed to encourage greater collaboration, knowledge sharing, and participation in mathematical activities across the African continent.

Benefits of LMS Mathematics in Africa Grant

  • The maximum grant award is £2,000. Please note that this represents the upper funding limit and is not the standard award amount.

LMS Mathematics in Africa Grant Requirements

Applicants can be mathematicians based anywhere in the world. However, funding will only be awarded for mathematical activities that take place within Africa.

  • Applicants must be involved in a mathematical activity taking place in Africa.
  • PhD students are not eligible to apply for a Mathematics in Africa Grant.
