About Max Planck School Matter to Life - Max Planck MTL Internship
Max Planck MTL Internship 2027 is a fully funded undergraduate research program that places Bachelor’s students in Matter to Life (MtL) faculty laboratories across Germany for 10 weeks of hands-on research. The MPI MTL Internship Scholarship 2027 in Germany covers travel, accommodation, and a monthly allowance while allowing participants to gain practical laboratory experience.
The program is organized by the Matter to Life Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (MtL-URO) within the Max Planck Matter to Life network. Participating laboratories are located across German cities such as Munich, Heidelberg, Göttingen, Dresden, Jena, Mainz, Münster, Potsdam, and Aachen, offering exposure to international research environments.

Max Planck School Matter to Life - Max Planck MTL Internship Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s/undergraduate degree.
- Remain enrolled throughout the entire 10-week internship.
- Complete at least 1.5 semesters of their degree by the time of application.
- Have completed at least two semesters by the beginning of the internship.
- Have a minimum GPA of 1.7.
- Have an academic background related to biology, chemistry, physics, informatics, materials science, engineering, bioengineering, or a related field.
- Have a genuine interest in research in the Matter to Life field.
Important Eligibility Note:
You must still be enrolled in your Bachelor’s degree for the entire duration of the internship. This means you cannot graduate before completing the 10-week URO internship.
