Appllications are currently being accepted for the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic - Scholarships for Talented International Students 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to click here to learn more about this opportunity and apply for it.
The Slovakia Scholarship Programme provides financial support to talented international students who want to pursue full-time bachelor’s, combined bachelor’s and master’s, or master’s degree programmes at public and state higher education institutions in Slovakia.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
no prior study at a secondary school in Slovakia. In addition, applicants for a scholarship at the bachelor's level must not have previously studied at a higher education institution (HEI) in Slovakia (except for academic mobilities). For applicants at the master's level, prior study at an HEI in Slovakia is not a contradicting factor. Studies completed outside of Slovakia are not a contradicting factor for applying for this scholarship.
In the case of study at a secondary school, this condition does not apply to Slovaks living abroad with Slovak citizenship who submit a copy of the Certificate in accordance with § 7 of Act No. 474/2005 Coll. on Slovaks Living Abroad along with their scholarship application.
for applicants for a scholarship at the bachelor's or combined bachelor's and master's level: admission to a public Slovak HEI for a supported bachelor's study programme or a supported combined bachelor's and master's study programme, with studies taking place in the territory of the Slovak Republic (at the time of submitting the scholarship application, it is sufficient to have applied to a public Slovak HEI). The fulfilment of the conditions will be demonstrated by the applicant's solemn declarations (templates will be available for download, all must be hand-signed) or by meeting the conditions for starting studies at a public Slovak HEI.
Please note that exceptions cannot be granted for these conditions.
