About NASA JPL Year-Round Internship
The JPL Year-Round Internship Program offers part-time and full-time internship opportunities at JPL during the academic year as well as summers to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics and STEM adjacent fields.
As part of the experience, participants are partnered with JPL scientists, engineers, or professional staff who serve as the students' mentors. Participants complete designated projects outlined by their mentors, gaining practical experience in their fields of study while also contributing to NASA and JPL missions. Students will have the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities, including tours, lectures and career advisement, arranged by the JPL Academic Engagement Office.

- Distance Requirement: In order to qualify for the supplementary payment, the student’s school must normally be more than 50 miles away from JPL.

NASA JPL Year-Round Internship Requirements
- A relevant STEM or STEM-related background
- Are a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- Are enrolled in an authorized U.S. university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Students may be especially well-positioned to make their resumes stand out if they have a GPA of 3.5 or above
- Relevant technical coursework, research experience, coding proficiency, laboratory abilities, engineering projects, or other proof of practical problem solving.
