Cypher Cinema is a talent development program especially for starting self-taught filmmakers who want to make an idiosyncratic, short film. With a development contribution and a workshop and coaching programme, the Fund aims to stimulate the influx of new voices and perspectives that contribute to a diverse, accessible film culture.
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Be a self-taught filmmaker or filmmaking collective.
Not have graduated from a recognized professional film direction program.
Have professional directing experience.
Have completed at least one independent film production; or
Have completed at least two commissioned audiovisual projects for different clients.
Not currently be enrolled in vocational training.
Have a viable short film concept suitable for development.
Commit to participating fully in the one-year development trajectory.
Relevant experience may include:
Independent film productions.
Commercial productions.
Music videos.
Television-related projects.
Other professional audiovisual productions.
Producer Requirements
Applicants must apply with a producer or be willing to work with a producer identified during the program.
The producer must:
Meet professional industry standards.
Hold relevant film education or demonstrate proven producing experience.
Have worked on an independently released film or possess equivalent professional experience.
Be based in:
The Kingdom of the Netherlands.
A European Union member state.
A European Economic Area (EEA) member state.
Switzerland.
