The Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF) has opened applications for its 2026 Grant, designed to support impactful initiatives that promote gender equality, strengthen women-focused institutions and challenge violence against women and girls across Nigeria. This grant prioritizes interventions that elevate women’s voices, expand leadership opportunities and create safer, more inclusive communities.
1. Advocacy Initiatives
Policy campaigns promoting gender equality
Community dialogues on women’s rights
Engagement with local and national stakeholders
2. Capacity-Building Programs
Training for women leaders or young women advocates
Institutional development for women-led organizations
3. Community-Mobilization Projects
Organizing women’s groups
Supporting survivors of violence
Public engagement on gender-based violence prevention
4. Awareness and Communication Efforts
Radio programs, community theatre, digital campaigns
Educational materials addressing women’s rights and safety
5. Organizational Strengthening
Improving governance, financial management or strategic planning
Organizations must meet the following criteria:
Be a local NGO or community-based organization registered in Nigeria.
Be women-led or women-focused, with a clear mandate that centers women or girls.
Have at least two years of continuous operation at the time of application.
Demonstrate strong administrative, financial and human-resource capacity.
Propose realistic, community-driven interventions aligned with NWTF’s mission.
Have the ability to implement a four-month project (January–April 2026).
Ideal applicants work in underserved communities, rural areas, conflict-affected regions or with vulnerable populations.
