About Northern Territory Government Arts and Culture – Art Equipment Grants

This program funds equipment essential for creating, displaying, promoting, and documenting NT artists’ work, including kilns, printing presses, sound systems, gallery fittings, and storage tools. Priority is given to Remote and Very Remote arts organisations and Aboriginal-owned art centres.

Benefits of Northern Territory Government Arts and Culture – Art Equipment Grants

  • Maximum grant: $10,000 per financial year
  • Applicants must demonstrate additional funding sources to cover full project costs
  • Not for consumables (paint, staples, paper) or vehicles
  • Any equipment fixed to a facility requires written building owner approval
  • All expenditure must comply with the Buy Local Plan

  • Aboriginal-owned art centres
  • Organisations receiving less than $400,000 per year through the Australia Council for the Arts (AGP)
