Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art - Exhibition Publication Grants Requirements
Our Exhibition Publication Grants are available to any organisation, institution or nonprofit and are open to international applicants. Collaborative applications between two or more organisations are welcomed. Applications from internationally based organisations are also eligible.
The subject of the exhibition from which the publication is based must meet our criteria, more information on this is available on their Our Funding Focus webpage and we have also highlighted some of our previously funded projects here.
- All applicants must demonstrate how their publication will contribute to the wider field of British art, visual culture and/or architecture.
- We can accept applications from those who are undertaking practice based research, please see here for further guidance on this.
Application Date and Process
- Submit Your Application
All applications must be filled our via grants.paul-mellon-centre.ac.uk. Once registered you will be able to select the relevant opportunity and fill out the application form, this will include providing the details of your referee.
- Referee
After your application has been submitted, we will contact your referee directly. Applicants are responsible for ensuring their referee submits their reference by the deadline. The deadline for doing so will be communicated with you and the referee.
- Assessment
We undertake a two-round assessment process. In the first round all applications are read and assessed by a Sub-Committee of our Advisory Council members. A percentage of the top scoring applications will then proceed to the second and final round of assessment, involving all of our Advisory Council members, which will conclude in a decision meeting where the grants are awarded.
- Final Decision
We will keep you updated about the status of your application throughout the assessment process and will inform all applicants of the final decisions by the date given at the time of application. Due to the high volume of applications, individual feedback is not guaranteed, though specific requests may be accommodated.
