The Professional Development Grant is a part of the Community Cultural Development (CCD) Investment Program which supports qualifying individuals, groups and organizations that offer high-quality arts and heritage initiatives for Port Coquitlam residents.
Maximum funding per initiative: $1,000
1. Capacity-Building Initiatives
Organizations must be incorporated non-profit societies for at least one year
Federal charitable registration is not required
Initiatives must strengthen organizational capacity (training, workshops, administration)
Capital projects are ineligible; those fall under the Community Capital Projects Matching Grant Program
2. Professional Development for Individuals
Artists in visual, performing, or literary arts
Administrators or board members of Port Coquitlam non-profit organizations
Applicants must have completed basic training via university, college, specialized apprenticeship, or self-directed study
Artists should have a modest body of work and some local recognition
Board members must be actively volunteering in eligible organizations
3. Community Initiatives
Artists, collectives, or individuals who are not incorporated but provide a clear community benefit
Activities must primarily benefit Port Coquitlam residents
Initiatives must be artistic, heritage, or cultural in nature
Applicants must demonstrate adequate expertise to execute the project
