About PiAf Fellowship
The PiAf Fellowship 2027-2028 in Africa is a fully funded 12-month fellowship that places recent university graduates with host organizations across the African continent. It covers on-the-ground costs, including airfare, housing, food, and local travel, and provides insurance, evacuation support, and a leadership retreat. Applications for 2027-28 host organizations are now open.
Princeton in Africa, the provider of this fellowship, connects talented young people with organizations working in Africa. The organization receives hundreds of applications each year and uses a rigorous selection process, including written applications, references, transcripts, interviews, and committee review. It also launched a new innovation-focused PiAf Innovator track to support Africa’s growing innovation economy.

PiAf Fellowship Requirements
- Host organizations must be working on the African continent.
- Fellows are recent university graduates; some are enrolled in or have completed graduate-level studies.
- Candidates must submit a written application, professional or academic references, and an academic transcript.
- Selection includes interviews and review by a selection committee.
- Relevant language skills among candidates include English, French, Kiswahili, and many other African languages.

- Within a few business days of submitting the form, receive access to the online portal and complete the host organization application.
- For the innovation-focused PiAf Innovator track, indicate your interest in the form as well.
