The New Zealand Communities Growth Trust Contestable Grant Round 2025 is a funding opportunity offered by the Public Trust to support charitable and community-focused organisations in New Zealand.
Funding Support
Access to financial resources for therapeutic, educational, or public-benefit projects
Helps organisations scale or launch initiatives that align with the Trust’s mission
Social Impact
Enables services that support healing and recovery for individuals affected by cults or spiritual communities
Promotes community development, cooperation, and environmental sustainability
Capacity Building
Supports education and skill-building programs, especially for disadvantaged individuals
Encourages development of counselling and life skills that improve long-term wellbeing
Strategic Alignment
Prioritizes projects with clear potential for impact
Favors initiatives that help people rebuild lives, gain competencies, and foster resilience
Who can apply:
Registered charities (Charities Services)
Incorporated societies (NZ Companies Office)
Must provide services to New Zealanders and align with one of the Trust’s purposes.
Applications are expected from organisations with national operations and nationwide impact.
Only one application per organisation per round.

Applications (draft or submitted) can be downloaded as a PDF.
Complete Required Fields
Ensure all mandatory fields are filled.
Upload supporting documents (max 25MB per file).
Only one application per organisation is allowed.
Review & Submit
Use the Review and Submit option to check for errors.
Submit before the deadline (5pm, 12 December 2025 NZDT).
Late applications will not be accepted.
Confirmation
After submission, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a copy of your application.
If not received, check spam/junk or contact Public Trust.
Outcome Notification
Results will be communicated by 28 February 2026 via the SmartyGrants portal.
