About Queens University International Scholarships

Queen’s University International Scholarships provide financial support for first-year undergraduate students from around the world entering Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. These awards include automatic admission scholarships, faculty-specific renewable awards, and special programs for U.S. and displaced students.

Queen’s University is one of Canada’s leading universities, attracting outstanding student scholars from across the globe. The Office of the University Registrar and Financial Aid and Awards coordinates scholarships, bursaries, work study, and government aid for international and U.S. students.

Benefits of Queens University International Scholarships

Dean’s International Award Program automatically awards renewable funding of $10,000 to $25,000 per year for up to 4 years in Arts and Science, Engineering, Commerce, and Health Sciences.
Principal’s Global Scholars Undergraduate Award supports forcibly displaced students entering through the Global Scholars admission pathway, renewable for up to three subsequent years with a 2.0 GPA.
Principal’s Scholarship provides a one-year $7,000 award to top 3% of competitive admission average in each first-entry undergraduate program.
Mehran Bibi Sheikh Memorial Entrance Scholarship awards $1,500 to two first-year students, with preference for Pakistani citizens.
Killam American Scholarship provides $9,000 to one U.S. citizen or permanent resident entering first year.
Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship offers approximately $60,000 CAD toward tuition and fees for one Japanese exchange student.
U.S. Student Loans are available through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program using Federal School Code G06679.
U.S. Veteran Affairs education benefits may cover tuition, fees, books, and living expenses for eligible U.S. military-affiliated students.

Queens University International Scholarships Requirements

Must be an international student; Canadian citizens, dual citizens, and permanent residents do not qualify for international admission scholarships and awards.
Must be entering the first year of post-secondary education for the first time, with CEGEP graduates entering second year remaining eligible for admission awards.
Students paying domestic tuition and fees are not eligible for Dean’s International Award faculty awards.
Arts and Science, Commerce, Engineering, and Health Sciences awards require enrollment in the corresponding first-entry undergraduate program.
Bachelor of Nursing students are not eligible for the Health Sciences International Admission Award.
Principal’s Scholarship requires academic excellence in the top 3% of the competitive admission average.
Principal’s Global Scholars Undergraduate Award is for forcibly displaced students entering through the Global Scholars admission pathway.
Mehran Bibi Sheikh Memorial Entrance Scholarship requires academic excellence and is awarded to one male and one female student, with preference for Pakistani citizens.
Killam American Scholarship requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and first-year entry into any first-entry undergraduate program.
Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship requires Japanese nationality and current enrollment in a Japanese university studying on a Letter of Permission.
U.S. Student Loans require U.S. citizenship or eligible U.S. non-citizen status.
U.S. VA education benefits require U.S. military service or family member service and a VA-approved degree program.

Application Date and Process

Complete the Queen’s University admission application to be automatically considered for most international admission scholarships and awards.
No separate application is required for the Dean’s International Award, Principal’s Scholarship, Mehran Bibi Sheikh Memorial Entrance Scholarship, or Killam American Scholarship.
For the Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship, submit the scholarship application and supporting documentation by December 1.
For U.S. Student Loans, apply through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program using Queen’s Federal School Code G06679.
