The RSA Early Career Research Grant (EC) is provided to support a discrete piece of regional studies and/or regional science research.

Benefits of Regional Studies Association Early Career Research Grant

The value of the grant is up to £10,000 (c. $13,300; c. €11,800). The grant has a maximum time span of 18 months and reporting conditions apply. 

Regional Studies Association Early Career Research Grant Requirements

  • Applicants must be early career researchers, defined as within five years of receiving their PhD.

  • Must be affiliated with an eligible higher education institution.

  • Must be a current RSA member throughout the grant period (membership can be applied for alongside the grant).

Application Date and Process

Two-stage process:

  1. Expression of Interest submission.

  2. Full proposal submission for shortlisted candidates.
