About Schlumberger Foundation Faculty Fellowships
Schlumberger Faculty Fellowships supports women from developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD or postdoctoral research in STEM at top universities abroad. The online application opened on 1 September 2026 and closes on 7 November 2026.
The program is run by the Schlumberger Foundation (Faculty for the Future) which since 2004 has supported women scientists from low- and middle-income countries, offering annual renewable grants, childcare support in eligible cases, and membership of a global alumnae network.
Benefits of Schlumberger Foundation Faculty Fellowships
- PhD: up to USD 50,000 per year
- Post-doctoral research: up to USD 40,000 per year
- Covers university tuition and bench fees, accommodation, a living allowance, travel, visa charges and conference expenses
- An exceptional childcare grant may be awarded per eligible child when conditions are met
- Membership of the Faculty for the Future global alumnae network, with access to additional grants after selection
Schlumberger Foundation Faculty Fellowships Requirements
- Be a woman and a citizen of a developing or emerging country (no dual citizenship with a developed country)
- Be preparing for a PhD or post-doctoral research in a STEM discipline – master’s degrees are not funded
- Be enrolled in, admitted to, or have applied to a well-ranked host university/research institute abroad
- Hold an excellent academic record and be able to provide strong references
- Have proven teaching experience or a demonstrated interest in teaching and academia
- Be committed to returning to her home country to pursue an academic or research career, STEM entrepreneurship, or a policy-making role
- Demonstrate leadership skills, community outreach and a track record of encouraging girls and women into STEM
- Employees of Schlumberger (SLB) are not eligible
Application Date and Process
- Read the Faculty for the Future eligibility criteria and FAQs on the Schlumberger Foundation website.
- Create an account on the online application portal and complete the personal, academic and research sections of the form.
- Upload your academic transcripts and degree certificates, CV, research proposal/description, proof of admission or application to the host university, and evidence of teaching experience and outreach activities.
- Provide the details of your referees; references are an important part of the selection process.
- Submit the completed application before the 7 November 2026 deadline.
