The Media and Communications Intern will support the development and execution of social media and external communications efforts at Science Gallery Bengaluru (SGB).
The Media and Communications team works across social media, press and media relations, external communications, and partnerships. The intern will work closely with the team on campaign development, content creation, video production, documentation, press outreach and partnerships. The role offers an opportunity to understand how communications are developed and executed at the intersection of science, technology, art and culture.
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
A strong interest in social media and an understanding of how different platforms are used to engage audiences. Regular personal use of social media to follow trends, news and current conversations is desirable.
The ability to plan social media calendars and write clear, engaging short-form content.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
An interest in public engagement, cultural programming, science communication, the arts or related fields.
Strong research and writing skills.
An eye for visual storytelling, with an interest in photography and short-form video creation.
Attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
An interest in current developments across science, technology, art and culture.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students, recent graduates, and candidates from media and communications backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applicants from all academic disciplines are welcome, as formal qualifications are secondary to relevant skills, experience and demonstrated interest.
