About SVRI Research Grant

The Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) is a global organisation focused on advancing research on violence against women, child sexual violence, and other forms of gender-based violence, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.Since 2014, SVRI has supported nearly USD 11 million in research funding and has developed a global network of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working to address violence linked to gender inequalities.

• Grant amount: USD 30,000 to USD 50,000 per project.

SVRI Research Grant Requirements

The SVRI Data to Evidence Grant 2027 is open to researchers based in low- and middle-income countries.

Eligible lead applicants must:

• Be based at a university, research institution, or non-governmental organisation in a low- or middle-income country.
• Have permission or approval to access and use the proposed dataset.
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct ethical research.
• Develop a project focused on violence against women, child sexual violence, or gender-based violence.

The programme particularly welcomes applications:

• Led by early-career researchers.
• Meaningfully involving early-career researchers.
• From organisations that have not previously received SVRI funding.
