About South Gippsland Shire Council Community Grants Program
The South Gippsland Shire Council Community Grants Program is designed to support initiatives that contribute to the growth, vibrancy, and wellbeing of local communities. Guided by the Council’s Grants Program Policy, the program focuses on enhancing quality of life, protecting local heritage, expanding recreational and cultural opportunities, and supporting projects that align with the Council Plan 2020–2024.

- Funding amounts up to $10,000 per project
South Gippsland Shire Council Community Grants Program Requirements
- Eligible applicants include incorporated associations, companies limited by guarantee, social enterprises operating for community benefit, organisations auspiced by an eligible incorporated body, and community asset committees or defined Council-related committees.
- Applicants must be based in the South Gippsland Shire or demonstrate significant services to local residents with projects operating within the Shire. Community houses, kindergartens, and preschools managed by volunteer committees are eligible if projects deliver broad community benefit.
- Unincorporated groups may apply via auspicing arrangements, where the auspicing body assumes legal responsibility for grant funds.
- Government-funded agencies such as schools, hospitals, and registered training organisations are generally ineligible, except in limited cases where projects provide community-wide benefits beyond normal funding.
