About Taylor’s University Scholarship

Taylor’s University Scholarship 2026 offers financial support for postgraduate research and taught programmes at Taylor’s University in Malaysia. This scholarship aims to help students become effective researchers and contribute to the community.

Benefits of Taylor’s University Scholarship

Scheme A Plus – PhD

  • Scheme A Plus is the highest-value Taylor’s University research scholarship. It is available only for doctoral programmes in science, medical science, pharmaceutical science, engineering and computer science.
  • Recipients receive:
  • 100% tuition fee waiver for up to 36 months
  • Monthly stipend of RM3,200 for up to 36 months
  • Conference allowance of up to RM3,000
  • Coverage of applicable university fees except enrolment and visa-related costs
  • International students remain responsible for costs such as the international enrolment fee, EMGS student visa application and renewal fees, E-Val and any required personal bond or advance tuition deposit.
  • Scheme A – PhD
  • Scheme A supports full-time PhD students across eligible research areas at Taylor’s University.
  • Recipients receive:
  • 100% tuition fee waiver for up to 36 months
  • Monthly stipend of RM2,300 for up to 36 months
  • Conference allowance of up to RM3,000
  • Coverage of applicable university fees except enrolment and visa-related costs
  • The stipend under Scheme A is lower than Scheme A Plus, but both schemes cover complete tuition fees and include conference support.

Scheme B – Master’s and PhD

  • Scheme B is the main fully funded option for students applying for a master’s by research.
  • PhD recipients receive:
  • 100% tuition fee waiver for up to 36 months
  • Monthly stipend of RM1,900 for up to 36 months
  • Master’s by research recipients receive:
  • 100% tuition fee waiver for up to 24 months
  • Monthly stipend of RM1,500 for up to 24 months
  • For international students, the International Student Charge and International Student Annual Fee are waived during the first year. Visa application and renewal fees, E-Val and the personal bond or advance tuition deposit remain the student’s responsibility.

Taylor’s University Scholarship Requirements

  • To qualify for the Taylor’s University Scholarship, applicants must meet the following general requirements:
  • Eligible Countries: Malaysian and international students may apply.
  • Applicants must pursue a postgraduate research programme at Taylor’s University in Malaysia.
  • The scholarship is intended for full-time study.
  • Applicants must meet the academic and English-language admission requirements of their selected programme.
  • Applicants must prepare a suitable research proposal.
  • Applicants must obtain an offer of admission from Taylor’s University.
  • Applicants may submit their admission and scholarship applications at the same time, but the scholarship will only be processed after admission is confirmed.
  • Shortlisted applicants must attend an interview and present their research proposal.
  • Students may receive only one Taylor’s University scholarship or financial award at a time.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must provide the English-language evidence required by their selected research programme. Exact scores differ between programmes, so applicants should check the entry requirements shown on the relevant programme page rather than relying on one university-wide score. Taylor’s also asks research applicants to provide evidence of English proficiency during the admission process.

Scheme A Plus Eligibility

  • PhD applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50; and
  • Master’s degree by coursework or mixed mode with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 from a recognised institution; or
  • Master’s degree completed through research mode from a recognised institution
  • Applicants with a publication in a citation-indexed journal have an additional advantage.
  • Scheme A Plus is available only for PhD programmes in:
  • Science
  • Medical science
  • Pharmaceutical science
  • Engineering
  • Computer science
  • Scheme A Eligibility
  • PhD applicants must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.33; and
  • Master’s degree by coursework or mixed mode with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 from a recognised institution; or
  • Master’s degree completed through research mode from a recognised institution
  • A publication in a citation-indexed journal is not listed as compulsory at the application stage, but it will strengthen the application.

Scheme B Eligibility

  • For a PhD scholarship, applicants must have:
  • Master’s degree by coursework or mixed mode with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 from a recognised institution; or
  • Master’s degree completed through research mode from a recognised institution
  • For a master’s by research scholarship, applicants must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 from a recognised institution
  • Scholarship recipients must also satisfy publication conditions before graduation:
  • Scheme A Plus: Two articles accepted in journals indexed by Scopus or Clarivate
  • Scheme A: One article accepted and one article under review in a Scopus- or Clarivate-indexed journal
  • Scheme B: One article accepted in a Scopus- or Clarivate-indexed journal
  • These are conditions for graduation and continued academic performance, not necessarily publications that every applicant must already have when applying.
