Opportunity Details

The Hagler Institute for Advanced Study is proud to continue the Chancellor’s National Academy STEM Ph.D. Fellowship Program (“Chancellor’s Fellowship”) for outstanding students working in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.  This program is funded by the Chancellor of the Texas A&M University System, and its purpose is to attract more of the nation’s top students to Texas A&M University and team them with a national academy member and a rising star faculty member. Collaboration between students, national academy members and rising star faculty is a signature component of this program.

  • A $40,000 per year stipend for four years of graduate study.

Texas A&M University Chancellor’s National Academy STEM Ph.D. Fellowship Program Requirements

  • Applicants should earn a bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) field no later than August 2026. Some applicants will also have a master’s degree. However, a master’s degree is not required.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average in their STEM bachelor’s program of study greater than or equal to 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants should apply for admission or already be admitted to a STEM doctoral program at Texas A&M University to begin in the fall of 2026.  Winning students must be accepted for admission.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. resident, U.S. permanent resident or eligible noncitizen.
