About The Bridge Founder Residency
The Bridge is offering an intensive startup residency in San Francisco, California, for ambitious founders based outside the United States who want to build venture-scale companies. The programme is designed for entrepreneurs at the earliest stage of their startup journey, including individuals who have not yet settled on a business idea or found a co-founder. Through an eight-week residency, participants live and work alongside other founders, explore business ideas, identify customer problems, test markets and develop early product concepts.
Benefits of The Bridge Founder Residency
- The strongest teams receive a check of $250k in pre-seed funding and continue building as part of the EF program in San Francisco. They decide on three things: the team, the market, and what you built in eight weeks.
- They also help teams raise their next round from top US investors once they're ready.
The residency provides:
- Accommodation in a shared founder house
- Workspace
- Three meals per day
- Mentorship and founder community
- Visa application support
The page notes that travel, insurance, visa fees, and other personal expenses may not be covered and should be confirmed with the program.
The Bridge Founder Residency Requirements
- The Bridge is for founders at Stage 0. Many arrive pre-idea or pre-team. Some come with an early idea or founding team. All are serious about building ambitious, venture-scale companies.
- They look for various profiles. Think builder: product obsessive, engineer, researcher, hacker. Or future CEO: commercial operator who knows how to lead, build, distribute, grow or sell what people want.
- Founders are based outside the US and want direct access to Bay Area speed, talent, and capital.
