About The Club of Rome Communications Fellowship Programme

The Club of Rome Communications Fellowship is a professional development opportunity for early-career communicators interested in systems thinking, sustainability, and global challenges.The fellowship is offered as a remote placement, enabling fellows to work from their home country while collaborating closely with the Club of Rome’s international communications team.The programme is designed to strengthen global representation in sustainability communications by prioritizing applicants from Most of the World, including Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

Selected fellows receive:

• A modest stipend to support living costs (amount varies by location)

• Coverage of work-related travel expenses

• One funded trip to meet the Club of Rome team

• Hands-on experience in international science and sustainability communications

• Exposure to global research, events, and high-level policy discussions

The Club of Rome Communications Fellowship Programme Requirements

• A bachelor’s or equivalent degree in science or journalism, and/or current student or graduate of a science journalism program.
• Some experience in writing about systems thinking or sustainability research for non-specialist audiences via blogs, newspapers, university websites or other outlets OR experience in producing multimedia content on relevant topics.
• Written and oral fluency in English and a proven ability to understand complex scientific research or systems thinking.
• Experience with, or interest in, social media, video, photography or other multimedia.
• Alignment with the beliefs and vision of the Club of Rome.
• Bearing in mind the objectives of this fellowship, only applications from residents of countries in Most of the World (Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and Asia-Pacific) will be considered.
