Opportunity Details
A sustainable natural environment is fundamental to a healthy and prosperous society. Continuing and expanding on 45 years of science, environmental and conservation funding, the Environment program responds to the global focus on urgent issues such as climate change and biodiversity loss.
The Environment program supports ambitious and transformative applied conservation initiatives, i.e. on-ground nature protection and restoration.
Offers large grants starting from $100,000.
May include multi-year support.
Projects can span land, freshwater, marine, and coastal environments.
Must show a strong evidence base, clear implementation plan, and measurable outcomes.
Preference for bold, strategic, and preventive initiatives.
Encourages collaboration among community groups, researchers, landholders, and Traditional Owners.
Two-Stage Application Process
Stage 1: Expression of Interest (EOI)
Eligibility Check: Ensure your organisation meets the Foundation’s criteria.
Review Program Objectives: Confirm your project aligns with the Environment Program’s goals.
Attend Info Session: Optional but recommended for insights into funding priorities.
Submit EOI Online: Use the GivingData portal when submissions open.
EOI Review: The Foundation assesses alignment with priorities. You may be contacted for more details.
Stage 2: Full Application
Invitation Only: You can only proceed if your EOI is approved.
Complete Online Form: Submit all required documents by the deadline.
Board Review: Applications are considered at scheduled board meetings.
Notification: You’ll be informed of the outcome via phone or email.
