About The Kurt Schork Awards in International Journalism
The annual Kurt Schork Awards in International Journalism honour the work of freelance journalists, local reporters and news fixers in developing countries or nations in transition, whose work is often poorly paid, mostly unsung and frequently fraught with danger.
Benefits of The Kurt Schork Awards in International Journalism
- The winners of the Freelance Journalist and Local Reporter Awards will receive a cash prize of $5,000. The News Fixer Award will be shared by two journalists this year and will each receive $3,500.
The Kurt Schork Awards in International Journalism Requirements
- Open to freelance journalists, local reporters, and news fixers worldwide.
- Journalists must have reported on events between June 01,2025 and June 14, 2026.
- Applicants must submit three articles each of the Freelance Award and Local Reporter Award or three references from foreign correspondents for the News Fixer Award.
- Aricles must demonstrate journlalistic excellence, determination and courage.
