The New York Public Library - Cullman Center Fellowship Requirements
- The USA fellowship is open to academics, independent scholars, journalists, translators, and creative writers, including novelists, playwrights, and poets.
- Visual artists working on a book project are also eligible to apply.
- International applicants who are fluent in English can submit applications.
- Applicants must demonstrate that their project requires extensive use of the collections at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.
- Candidates must conduct their research primarily at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building during the fellowship period.
- Students seeking funding for research that leads directly to an academic degree are not eligible.
- The selection committee evaluates applicants based on the quality of their writing, originality of their work, and potential contribution to scholarship and literature.
- Fellows must commit to working at the Cullman Center five days a week throughout the fellowship term.
