• Grants of up to $10,000 are available.

The Robert B. Silvers Foundation - Silvers Grants for Work in Progress Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be anglophone writers of any nationality

• Propose a long-form nonfiction project

• Work in literary criticism, arts writing, political analysis, or social reportage

• Hold a confirmed publishing agreement for the proposed work

• Submit original nonfiction writing, not fiction or translation

Application Date and Process

Applications must be submitted as a single PDF and should include:

• a curriculum vitae
• a one-page description of the project
• full responses to the financial questionnaire (download a copy of the form here)
• a 500–2,000 word sample of the writer’s work
• proof of a publishing agreement
