The Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement is an international environmental award that honors exceptional leadership and innovation in addressing critical global environmental challenges. Often referred to as the “Nobel Prize for the Environment,” it highlights work that advances sustainability, ecological protection, and planetary health worldwide.
Recipients of the Tyler Prize receive:
The Tyler Prize medallion
An official commemorative plaque
A monetary award of USD 250,000 Awardees are formally recognized during a dedicated Tyler Prize ceremony.
Eligible nominees must meet the following criteria:
Individuals or public/private organizations from any country
Demonstrated global or large-scale environmental impact
Work grounded in strong scientific foundations, including natural or social sciences
The following conditions apply:
Self-nominations are not accepted
Nominations must be submitted by knowledgeable third parties
Multiple nominations from the same nominator are not allowed
