About UNSW - Australian Human Rights Institute Global Student Fellowship
The Australian Human Rights Institute's Global Student Fellowship program provides students with financial support to undertake a placement at a leading international development or human rights organisation in Australia or the Asia–Pacific region.
Benefits of UNSW - Australian Human Rights Institute Global Student Fellowship
The Fellowship provides financial support to help cover costs associated with undertaking a placement, including travel, accommodation, rent and day-to-day living expenses. Support is offered through a three-tier funding model, with the amount determined by the location of the host organisation.
- Local placements (Sydney): AUD $6,500 (GST-free)
- Interstate placements: AUD $7,500 (GST-free)
- International placements: AUD $8,500 (GST-free)
UNSW - Australian Human Rights Institute Global Student Fellowship Requirements
- Applicants must be a student enrolled in any UNSW degree by coursework. Strong priority will be given to students in their penultimate year of study.
- Applicants must have at least one subject to complete upon return from their Fellowship in Term 1, 2027.
- Applicants must have a WAM of 70+ at the time of applying.
- Applicants must have the ability to complete the fellowship without compromising their studies, including assessments and examination periods.
- Applicants should have a demonstrated, strong interest and desire for a career in human rights and/or international development.
