About The Urology Foundation - David Thompson Fellowship for Urological Training and Research
The David Thompson Fellowship is designed to promote excellence in urological training, clinical practice, research, and professional development.
The programme enables promising urology professionals to gain experience at recognised centres of excellence outside the UK or Republic of Ireland.
Fellows are expected to use their international experience to strengthen urological care and knowledge-sharing in their home countries.

- Successful applicants can receive up to £35,000.
The Urology Foundation - David Thompson Fellowship for Urological Training and Research Requirements
The fellowship is intended for advanced urology trainees and early-career consultants.
Eligible applicants include:
- Specialist Urology Registrars at ST4 level or above.
- Academic Clinical Fellows who are at an advanced stage of urological training.
- Consultants who completed surgical training within the previous five years.
Applicants must also:
- Be living and working in the UK or Republic of Ireland.
- Plan to undertake the fellowship abroad.
- Intend to return to work in the UK or Republic of Ireland after completing the fellowship.
- Propose a fellowship that begins within 12 months of receiving the award.
