The Vancouver Heritage Foundation Heritage Conservation Grants provide funding and professional support to preserve and maintain heritage buildings and sites across Vancouver.The program offers Planning Project Grants and Conservation Project Grants to help owners plan, restore, and protect heritage places using recognized conservation best practices.
Funding levels depend on ownership type and heritage designation status.
Planning Project Grant Amounts
• Up to $2,000 for private owners
• Up to $3,000 for non-profit organizations and First Nations
Conservation Project Grant Amounts
• Up to $7,500 for private owners
• Up to $10,000 for private owners with heritage designation
• Up to $10,000 for non-profit organizations and First Nations
Five-Year Cumulative Funding Limits
Over a five-year period, cumulative funding per site may reach:
• Up to $20,000 for privately owned sites
• Up to $25,000 for designated private heritage sites
• Up to $30,000 for sites owned by non-profit organizations or First Nations
Eligible applicants include:
• Private property owners
• Strata corporations
• Registered non-profit societies
• Federally registered charities
• First Nations
To qualify, a site must be listed on the Vancouver Heritage Register or be actively applying for inclusion.
Exceptions may be made for sites of Indigenous cultural significance.
