Opportunity Details
The Young Adults Grant is designed to support young people with physical disabilities as they navigate the transition from adolescence to adulthood. By funding education, mobility, wellbeing, and skill-building needs, the grant helps beneficiaries achieve personal independence, life goals, and meaningful experiences.
Maximum grant per eligible young adult: $3,450 including GST
Funding supports a wide range of needs, including:
Tertiary education fees or study materials
Accommodation support for moving out of the family home
Travel expenses
Driving lessons and vehicle modifications
Communication devices and adaptive equipment
Mental wellbeing and personal development support
Applicants must meet these criteria:
Age 17–21 years
Have a physical disability primarily affecting body or limb function
May have additional sensory or intellectual disabilities, but these cannot be the primary reason for the grant
Must be a Wilson Home Trust beneficiary
Ineligible activities or applicants include:
Applicants under 17 or over 21
Retrospective funding for previously purchased items or services

Confirm the primary disability is physical
Verify WHT beneficiary status
Step 2: Identify Needs
Determine individual requirements aligned with personal goals
Consider education, mobility, wellbeing, or life skills support
Step 3: Complete Application
Provide personal details, description of the need or project, and expected benefits
Include quotes or supporting documentation for proposed expenses
Step 4: Submission and Review
Submit the application via WHT channels
Applications are assessed based on impact, relevance, and alignment with grant objectives
Step 5: Receive Outcome
Approved applicants receive funding for eligible items or services
Funds are provided to enable meaningful personal development
