Opportunity Details
The TAC Theatre Projects Program supports professional, non-profit theatre organizations and collectives based in Toronto. Its goal is to strengthen the creation, production, and presentation of theatre works while advancing professional theatre development across the city. The program emphasizes artistic quality, equitable participation, accessibility, and community engagement.
Full Production: Up to $20,000 for rehearsal, production, and presentation of a fully developed work.
Production in a Festival: Up to $10,000; requires confirmed festival participation.
Workshop: Up to $15,000 for development, including readings/presentations (not eligible for Playwrights program overlap).
Special Initiatives: Up to $15,000 for projects advancing theatre practice (e.g., festivals, conferences, forums).
Applicants must be incorporated non-profits or unincorporated collectives operating on a not-for-profit basis.
Must be Toronto-based (no P.O. Box addresses).
Collectives: majority of members must be Toronto residents.
Artists must be professional (recognized, actively practicing, seeking payment, with public presentation history).
Only one grant per calendar year through the Theatre program.
