About U.S. Embassy Seoul - Illumination Photo Contest
The Illumination Photo Contest is an Instagram-based photography competition that encourages participants to photograph the F250 Red, White, and Blue illumination installations displayed across Seoul.The contest aims to increase public awareness of activities commemorating the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, while encouraging creative photography and greater engagement with the U.S. Embassy in Seoul’s Instagram community.
Benefits of U.S. Embassy Seoul - Illumination Photo Contest
- Winner(s) will receive an F250 swag bag, including a variety of promotional items with a value of less than $25. There will be up to 5 winners.
- Winning photographs may be displayed on the embassy’s Instagram account.
- Winners must collect the prizes at the American Diplomacy House and must confirm the acceptance of the prize within three days. If the acceptance is not confirmed by the required date, an alternate winner may be selected.
- Any unused portion of the prize is not transferable, convertible, or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. All taxes on or in connection with any prize, and the reporting consequences thereof, are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the winner.
U.S. Embassy Seoul - Illumination Photo Contest Requirements
- Contestants must be at least 18 years old on the date of entry into the contest. Contestants must be living in South Korea and may not be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
- The individual submitting the entry will be considered the contestant and will be the only individual eligible to compete for the prize. Organizations are not eligible to compete for the prize, either as an entity, or through representation by an individual. In order to be eligible for the prize, the contestant must provide complete and accurate information.
- The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the contest: U.S. Government; or any employees, interns, directors, or officers of any agencies, companies or entities involved in the administration, advertising, judging, creation, development, execution, and/or fulfillment of this contest, and the immediate family members (defined as spouse, recognized partner, parent, child, sibling, and spouse or “step” of each) and those living in the same household of each such individual.
- Once a submission has been accepted for entry into the contest, the contestant’s name (or User ID, if the contestant wishes to remain anonymous) and country may be publicly identified at the sole discretion of the contestant.
